U2 star Adam Clayton has £1.5 million

stolen by former housekeeper

U2 star Adam Clayton has been cleaned out of cash by his former housekeeper, a court has been told.

Carol Hawkins bought an apartment in New York and spent £800 a month on a racehorse, it was alleged.

Hawkins, 49, also booked flights to Chicago for her son and withdrew £1,000 cash a day for 13 months, the court was told.

Lawyers for the bass guitarist, who claims Hawkins took £1.6million, secured a Dublin court order freezing her assets.
